A quick coupler is a breakable union in a pipe so that the pipe can be removed, changed, or temporarily moved.  These quick couplers have an excellent cam lock action that tightens the quick coupling together with a heavy rubber gasket.  The leak proof hold is very useful throughout maple sap tubing systems to keep roadways trails open, or disconnect vacuum boosters and sap releasers for cleaning and maintenance.  These parts are also commonly used on pumps to make them easy to remove and drain.  The 1-1/2" quick coupler is common pipe size and comes in any variety of male threads, female threads, or hose barb.  The parts are interchangeable so that a combination of threaded fittings and/or hose barbs can be used to fit your unique application.  The hose barb fittings are designed for flexible hose and may not fit plastic mainline tubing or black plastic water pipe, so we recommend using the female threaded versions of the quick couplings and threading a hose barb adapter into it.
